At The Economic Research Institute in Irvine, California, I helped transform the Salary Assessor from a data repository into a more flexible decision-support tool for compensation professionals. I focused on making complex salary data easier to customize and apply to real-world compensation planning.
One of the key features I designed was Hybrid Jobs, allowing customers to combine roles and compensation data to create custom positions and more relevant salary benchmarks. This gave users more control over modeling specialized roles while making the platform more useful for their day-to-day compensation planning.
The feature quickly drove adoption and measurable business impact: 85% of active users generated a report within the first month, while hybrid benchmarking reduced manual report requests by 90% and cut report generation time from 5+ days to roughly 4 minutes. The increased value of the platform also contributed approximately $25M in annual revenue from customer tier upgrades.
